In some cases the parent is called immediately following the incident to inform them in case they want to take further action.

15. How do you handle behavior issues? It is our experience that children who are engaged and challenged in a safe, secure and comfortable environment like the one we provide at The Day Academy have fewer incidents of misbehavior. In situations where behavior needs to be addressed we do so in age-appropriate ways. Redirection is used, along with taking the opportunity to discuss the problem with the child or children and offer alternative solutions for them. If a behavior problem escalates then a conference with the teacher or director is sometimes necessary.
